Why Early? STLport Early Access Program is here for two reasons. First is to provide developers who use STLport with immediate access to the latest bug fixes. Second is to allow contributors to share and test their changes fast and efficiently. To serve best for those two purposes, there are two forms of early access : beta snapshots and direct CVS access to STLport project repository.
Beta Snapshots: STLport provides access to development (beta) snapshots. If you wish to quickly pick up changes made since the last release, this is the way to go. Please bear in mind that those snapshots are less extensively tested than the release versions, so they may happen not to work in certain environments. Documentation may also be not quite up-to-date. Latest beta snapshots are available on download page.
CVS Access: CVS stands for "Concurrent Versioning System" and is a standard version control tool to use in distributed open-source projects. CVS server provides anonymous read-only remote repository access as well as read-write access for a relatively trusted group of developers. It is not necessary for any of them to have shell accounts on the server box. There is a manual for CVS available online here.
How to setup CVS: STLport project is now fully functional at SorceForge. Please use instructions at STLport CVS page at SourceForge
Tags and Branches:STLport CVS repository provides static tags and branches. Branches are provided for bugfixes maintenance. Please use static tags to retrieve particular snapshots.
